Going for Gold is a two-level Intermediate and Upper-Intermediate course designed to develop students' language skills and provide a gradual introduction to the requirements of the Cambridge FCE exam. 

The Upper Intermediate level is the perfect lead-in to First Certificate Gold. Going for GOLD is also suitable for use with students wishing to sit the Cambridge Certificate In English Language Skills (CELS).

Going for Gold Coursebook checklist:

  • Graded introduction to Cambridge exam style tasks;

  • Going for Gold Intermediate corresponds to level B1 PET of the Common European Framework.

Author:
  • Richard Acklam has been involved in EFL teaching/teacher-training since1982. He has mainly worked for International House in London, Paris and Cairo. He has an MA (TEFL) from the University of Reading. His publications include The Choice series [co-author with Sue Mohamed] (Longman), First Certificate Gold, Advanced Gold and Going for Gold (Intermediate and Upper Intermediate) [co-author with Araminta Crace] (Pearson Education).
  • Araminta Crace - A full time freelance writer of ELT materials, Araminta has taught in Brazil (where she was a Director of Studies), Egypt, Portugal and Spain, and worked as a teacher trainer at International House.
